Alternative Placement
The Alternative Placement is a three-week field experience that occurs at the end of Year One of
the Bachelor of Education program. Teacher Candidates work in a voluntary capacity in various
contexts where learning takes place (e.g., Section 23 Programs, rehabilitation centres, museums,
outdoor education centres). Teacher Candidates may also take advantage of international teaching
opportunities. The Alternative Placement provides Teacher Candidates with valuable field experience
that may not be available through Laurier Partner Schools.
Prerequisites: Registration status: B.Ed. program.
